Challenge Fencing - Maidstone branch has occupied the current address at 217-223 Sutton Road since June 1999. Since our ownership, it's undergone a substantial changes and a facelift with a metal cladding facade hiding the original building behind it.
Before we moved to Sutton Road, we were based in Harrietsham near the A20 from 1991, as seen in image 5, 1999 and the newspaper clipping on image 6 from the 8th of October 1998.
As far as we know, we took over the Sutton Road building in 1999 from Securicor, but no images can be found from this time. Before Secuicor, it was in use by BRS (British Road Services), Maidstone Trolleybus Depot.
In the 1st 2 images above, we believe we have identified the trolleybus 87 - BDY 810 outside the front of the building, which was one of 5 purchased in 1959. Sunbeam W with Weymann H56R body.
Images 3 and 4 are from 1952, according to the sources from Trucknetuk. Showing the front of the building and inside.
