11/06/2020

The Government has announced that all non-essential retail shops can reopen in England from Monday 15 June, provided they follow government guidelines to keep staff and customers as safe as possible.

We have been reviewing this latest guidance from the Government & have concluded that for the time being, we cannot safely reopen our branch shops & they will remain closed from 15th June.

All customers can however arrange for delivery or collection of their order from our branch yards. You must place your order online, by email or telephone beforehand. Please note, no walk-in customers will be served in our branches.

If you pre-arrange a collection, please do not visit the branch if you start to show any signs of the COVID-19 virus.

29/04/2020

To supplement our ongoing weekday retail and trade contact free delivery service, we are adding Saturdays from 8:00am to 1:00pm from this Saturday 2nd May. We are not offering deliveries on Saturdays but we are taking limited orders for collection and processing orders for weekday deliveries.

From Monday 4th May we are also adding pre-arranged, contact free retail collections at all our branches, to complement our existing pre-arranged trade account collections.

As before, all branch collections must be pre-ordered, paid for & cannot be collected until a 1-hour collection time has been confirmed by your local branch. Customers must also be able to load their own vehicle & secure their order using their own tie-down straps. We are sorry but our yard teams are not able to assist in loading customer’s orders.

Please ensure you check your order carefully as we cannot change or add goods once you have arrived at the branch.

All our branch shops remain closed to walk-in customers.

Finally, we will be open for online & telephone orders between 9:00am to 4:00pm on the Early May Bank Holiday Friday 8th May.

17/04/2020

Over the last 2 weeks since we closed our business, we have been reviewing the latest Government guidance on operating safely in the workplace. The Government has always encouraged online retail and delivery services to continue to operate. Indeed, this recent letter from The Rt Hon Alok Sharma MP, Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, continues to encourage such operations. Read letter >

During the time we’ve been closed we have prepared a detailed plan to allow us to safely offer a limited service to our retail & trade customers.

Therefore, from Monday 20th April, I’m pleased to announce we will be operating a retail and trade contact free delivery service and a trade account collection service both Monday to Friday only, under our enhanced distance selling plan;

  • All our branch shops and yards will remain closed to walk-in trade and retail customers
  • We will continue to take online, telephone and email orders
  • Our delivery procedure will include a minimum of 2m distance from our customers at all times
  • We will not ask for a signature, instead we will ask for a name & email when ordering so an email can be sent to confirm delivery
  • Our Trade Account customers can also arrange for delivery or are permitted to collect their order from our branch yards. However, they must place their order online, by email or telephone beforehand and wait until their order is confirmed as ready for collection before visiting the branch.

If you have any questions please contact ustelephone your local branch or message us via our Facebook page.

The health and wellbeing of our employees and that of our customers and suppliers is of the utmost importance to us.

We have therefore decided to close all operations effective immediately. We will fulfil any completed orders this week but are not taking any new retail or trade orders online, by phone or email.

We urge you to follow the Government’s social distancing guidelines and to shop responsibly for essential items only.

I’d like to thank all of the staff at Challenge Fencing for working so hard and offering a safe and reliable service to our customers over a difficult time.

We will continue to update our website and social channels as the situation develops.

27/03/2020

We have decided not to offer a delivery or trade collection service on Saturdays.

We will however still be operating a delivery and trade collection service Monday to Friday, subject to the latest government advice.

24/03/2020

Sadly, we have taken the decision to temporarily close all our branch shops until further notice.

We are however still offering a delivery only service for retail customers. With our extensive stocks of fencing, decking, sheds and gates, we are working hard to continue serving our customers in the safest possible way.

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to disrupt all of our lives, we would like to explain what actions we are taking to fight the spread of the virus and safeguard the health & wellbeing of our staff, customers & suppliers;

  • Where possible all our office-based employees are now working effectively from home
  • We have increased our hygiene procedures in all our branches & are regularly updating all employees on the current best advice from Public Health England, The Government & NHS
  • We have a strong sourcing strategy with excellent supplier relationships that allows us to maintain healthy stock levels at present. However, this is a developing situation & we kindly ask you bear with us if orders are delayed
  • We will continue to take online, telephone and email orders but have changed our delivery procedure as follows;

    • we will stay at least 2m away from our customers at all times
    • if a customer is self-isolating when delivery is confirmed or does not want to come into contact with our driver, we will re-arrange delivery for at least 14 days later
    • we will not ask for a signature, instead we will ask for a name & email when ordering so an email can be sent to confirm delivery

Our Trade Account customers can also arrange for delivery or are also permitted to collect their orders from our branch yards but only if they place their order online, by email or telephone beforehand.

No walk-in trade or retail customers will be served in our branches.

If you have any questions please contact ustelephone your local branch or message us via our Facebook page.

24/03/2020

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to disrupt all of our lives, we would like to explain what actions we are taking to fight the spread of the virus & safeguard the health & wellbeing of our staff, customers & suppliers.

Given yesterday’s (23rd March) announcement from the Prime Minister our business has been deemed essential through the category of Home and Hardware. While we work out the best way to support customers, we have taken the decision to close all our branch shops for at least 24 hours.

If you are expecting a delivery today (24th March), our yard and delivery teams will be completing these orders as soon as possible. You cannot currently collect an order from our branches in person. However please bear with us as there may be delays in response to phone/emails and fulfilling your order.

Do continue to check this page, our Facebook & Twitter pages or contact your local branch for our latest updates.

Very best regards,

Peter Keane
